Firm Halloween Party

Nate came to my firm's annual halloween party and was able to really trick or treat this year.  They always throw a great event with games for the kids and trick or treating, followed by lunch of hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, and frozen custard.  If was a lot of fun and Nate had a great time!

Checking out the pictures in recruiting.

Bowling.

Grabbing some candy.

Cutest Cookie Monster ever!

Running down the halls...with dad in close pursuit.

Such a goofy little boy!

Pumpkin Patch 2012

One fun thing we did this Fall was take Nate to a little Pumpkin Patch out in Rockwall.  I was able to get a good deal with a Groupon, so one Saturday in October we headed out there.   The patch had animals to feed, pumpkins (of course), a hay maze and a tractor ride.  We met the Leetes there and had a good family fun day!

There were animals to feed.  Nate loved the goats!

Concentrating hard to give the goats a piece of food.

Brave boy!

Dad showing Nate how to hold the food in his hand with his palm open.

The Leete girls feeding the sheep.

Sweet sisters.

And the obligatory shot of all the kids...love Nate's little expression here.

Success! Cute kiddos!

M is super sweet with Nate and always watches out for him.

The hay ride was the highlight of the afternoon!

Love the expressions in this picture.  Classic!

Concentrating...

Ashley and me (with a Nate photo bomb).

After the tractor ride, it was more goat feeding.

M helping out my boy.  Super sweet!

Then we took some obligatory photos.  Nate didn't want to hold still for the "How Tall This Fall" picture, but I finally managed to captured one that somewhat showed his height.

M posing sweetly.

C was a bit harder to photograph...

Running around the hay maze.

Nate found a butterfly on the way out.

Overall, a very fun afternoon!  We will definitely come back next year.  Happy Fall Y'all!

Happy Halloween 2012!!

We had a great Halloween this year...holidays are so much more fun with kids!

Nate (i.e., me!) made these little treat bags for him to pass out to his friends at school.  Just orange bags with a little mini playdoh inside.  I thought they turned out cute.

This was the first year we took Nate trick-or-treating.  We had a blast!  Nate did amazingly well.  He is a fairly shy kid around strangers and not "outgoing" initially, so I was a little worried as to how he'd do with the actual trick or treating part.  We envisioned holding him at the doorsteps.  But no!  He did great.  Toward the end, he'd walk up to the door step himself, knock on the door, and say "twick or tweat," get his candy and then say "tank you."  So sweet.  We were so proud of him!  And, once he figured out that people would give him candy at the doors, he was so excited and asked if we could do Halloween the next day as well.

Cute picture of my boys.

This door wins the prize for coolest decor.  I might have to steal this idea sometime!

Getting a little help from dad.

Me and my little guy enjoying a sucker at the end of the evening--the one piece of candy we let him have...the rest went to daddy.  Nate was more than happy to share, however, and didn't even notice when the candy disappeared.  I'm sure that won't be the case in the future!

Happy Halloween!!
